Digital Mobile Radio Communications
Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) is a digital two-way radio standard that enables seamless interoperability across devices from various manufacturers, working effectively on networks like the Orion Network. Delivering clear audio quality, extended range, and secure communications, DMR also supports integrated data applications, such as text messaging, location tracking, and dispatch capabilities.
As the world’s fastest-growing digital radio technology, DMR offers a cost-effective and adaptable solution, making it popular across a range of industries. Its compatibility with analogue radios also provides an easy migration path from analogue, supporting operations in both digital and mixed-mode environments.
Deployed where safety, productivity, and reliable connectivity are essential, CSE Crosscom, in partnership with the Orion Network, delivers industry-leading DMR solutions that enhance operational performance.

DMR System Options
The DMR communications platform is highly versatile, making it an ideal fit for specialised sectors such as social services, transportation, logistics, local government, waste management, and security. As an affordable and flexible solution, CSE Crosscom offers both simple and advanced DMR communication options, including Tier II and Tier III systems.
The DMR Tier II standard is designed as a cost-effective digital replacement for conventional analogue two-way radio systems. It covers licensed conventional radio setups, including mobile and handheld radios operating in the UHF (403-520 MHz) and VHF (148-174 MHz) frequency bands. Targeting spectral efficiency, advanced voice features, and integrated IP data services, Tier II provides reliable, high-power communications in licensed bands. The ETSI standard specifies Tier II as a two-slot TDMA system operating in 12.5 kHz channels.
