CSE Crosscom Recognised with 2026 ARCIA Major Project Award

CSE Crosscom is proud to announce it has received the Major Project Award for 2026 at the ARCIA Excellence Awards in recognition of its delivery of a nationwide critical communications network for Timor-Leste.

The award is a fantastic acknowledgement of the work that went into delivering such a significant piece of infrastructure, and of the many people across the business who helped make it possible.

The project expanded Timor-Leste’s emergency communications capability through the deployment of radio, microwave and operations centre infrastructure across remote and challenging environments, creating a resilient nationwide communications platform that supports public safety, emergency management and disaster response.

Fraser Hutchinson, Regional Sales Manager at CSE Crosscom, accepts the Major Projects Award at the 2026 ARCIA Excellence Awards in Melbourne.

Delivering a project of this scale was no small undertaking, and the award reflects the commitment, collaboration and expertise shown throughout the project lifecycle.

“We’re incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who played a part in making it possible,” said Fraser Hutchinson, Regional Sales Manager (East).

“Beyond the technology itself, the project is helping support emergency response, disaster management and humanitarian services across Timor-Leste. Knowing the network will continue to deliver lasting benefits for years to come makes this recognition particularly meaningful.”

Delivering a National Communications Capability

The project delivered a significant uplift in emergency communications capability for Timor-Leste, providing a resilient, nationally connected network designed to support critical operations across the country.

Operating across mainland Timor-Leste, Atauro Island and the Oecusse enclave, the project expanded communications coverage, improved network reliability and delivered a centrally managed platform capable of supporting more effective coordination during emergencies, disasters and humanitarian incidents.

A key focus throughout the project was ensuring long-term sustainability. Through technical training, mentoring and local-language documentation, local personnel were equipped with the skills and resources needed to confidently operate and maintain the network into the future.

Recognition for a Team Effort

Receiving the ARCIA Major Project Award is a proud moment for CSE Crosscom and recognition of the work that went into delivering a critical communications capability on a national scale.

The project presented unique logistical, technical and operational challenges, making its successful deployment and transition to operational use a significant achievement for all involved. Ultimately, the project demonstrated what can be achieved when strong partnerships, technical expertise and a clear operational outcome come together. CSE Crosscom is proud to have played a part in delivering a communications capability that will continue to support emergency services and public safety across Timor-Leste for many years to come.
