CSE Crosscom has been awarded the contract to design, procure and supply a wireless 802.11 WIFI network for the main mine indoor and outdoor plant areas at the Carrapateena mine, with some underground infill tunnel coverage by the project EPCM Ausco Downer JV.
Owned by Oz Minerals, the Carrapateena WIFI Project will support the development of a greenfields copper-gold project located approximately 160km north of Port Augusta in South Australia’s Gawler Craton. Carrapateena’s system is based on CISCO Unified Wireless Networks, with virtualised wireless and network management software.
The project is quite stringent in its design requirements and has a strong emphasis on the supply of system documentation and drawings to accompany 802.11 infrastructure.
